English-speaking groups for foreign children

We started to develop the concept of “Lviv Montesori School” several years ago. We studied the method and the philosophy of montesori educational model. Our staff took part in special trainings for montesori teachers and got the certificates. Learning space in our school is organized according to montesori concept and include all certified materials. In our school we practice genuine montesori approach and provide high quality education by montesori model in contrast to many centres of child development, which practice only some elements of montesori approach, which are not effective when taken out of general concept.
Lviv Montessori School started since October 2012. We have groups of permanent pupils in age of 2 – 5 years and additional courses for children from 8 months and for children in age of 5-6 years.
In September 2013, we start with English-speaking groups for foreign children who live in Lviv. We began the preparation since January 2013. We have selected the English- speaking staff; send them to special trainings for montesori teachers. In summer, they will attend special summer schools for montesori teachers and summer camps for children as trainees. We are preparing the program and surrounding for English-speaking children.
The courses will be held in various schedules, the parents may choose an appropriate time.

For some time I attended the “Montessori” kindergarten- watched how the pedagogues worked there and handled with the children on my own, as well. The pedimplemented there. They have the originally intended methods and atmosphere there. The idea is, that the children teach themselves to topics like mathematics, physics, logic,... in a frame of structure and order with the help of the pedagogues. It is considered, that the children can play with “normal” toys and have the disordered world at home and outside, so that it is a different learning place for them by purpose.
The groups are small, so that they can work with single children.
They have groups for the ages of 1-3 and 4-6. The children come in different rhythms. As it happens there attend some children with special needs- like hyperactivity or mental disability. Therefore also a speech therapist and a psychologist work there with single children.
It was very interesting for me to watch the lessons of the speech therapist! Normally the Ukrainian children are afraid to go to the logopedist as to go to the dentist, because there are scary metal constructions used for their mouths. But this speech therapist worked with the children just with speaking.
